TOBY TOBIAS

FOREVER 54 DJ

TOBY TOBIAS

TOBY'S STORY

Toby first fell in love with music when he went to Hed Kandi at Stereo in Newcastle, every Sunday without fail, this was around 20 years ago. It was then when he got my first set of desks and he was instantly hooked. Funky house was Toby's first love and from there his taste quickly evolved into more funk soul disco.

Toby use to work at Apartment and he always use to love the music they played. It was Steven Dunn, although he probably doesn't know it, who influenced Toby to want to DJ properly.

Toby also started to dj for his good friend who put nights on. Played at stereo, Camp David, the Cut and Hoko 10 among other places around the North East.

After a bit of a pause from DJ'ing Toby found himself with more free time, he got some new decks and started to play at home again.

Again a friend of Toby's got him a gig on Jackman Jones online birthday stream and this set him off online streaming for more events as well as networking, this lead Toby to Forever54. Toby loved the style of music they played, the venues and most importantly the charity work they do as well.

Toby met Mike one day when he was playing in Morpeth at Pleased to Meet You, he took his chance and the rest is history. Toby has now played for Forever 54 for nearly 2 years at this point. Toby loves it.

It's not just the music and the work. It's the family feel with Forever54 says Toby. Also the amazing charity work Mike has set up, making it feel so worth while!
